1. All children are entitled throughout their childhood to parenting and family life that promotes and safeguards their health, development and welfare and protects them from harm. The Unit for the Rights of Children gives top priority to achieve this mission.
2. Such care is best provided for a child within his or her own family, immediate or extended. Parents have a responsibility to provide this care for their child. This responsibility continues even though others may look after their child.
3. Work towards implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
4. Work towards creating a society, which respects the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Law on the Rights of the Child.
5. Provide requisite services to children in emergency situations and provide education and training for children in especially difficult circumstances.
6. Plan and undertake projects to improve the status of children with special needs and children in especially difficult circumstances and work towards protecting their rights.
